WHAT IS CBD?
CBD is a component of the cannabis plant. Cannabidiol ("CBD") is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. CBD is considered to have a wide scope of potential medical applications - CBD has an important role in the future of medicine. Both humans and other mammals create its own cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids, to help support our regulatory system. This system includes appetite, pain sensation, mood, memory, immune system functions, and inflammation control, and keeps the body balanced. When these systems are out of balance, CBD acts to help kick start these receptors. CBD is currently used by many patients (human and animal) who seek an alternative form of therapy without the unwanted side effects.

Is CBD Legal?
Since industrial hemp is still illegal to grow in the US, we import Hemp paste from Norway where industrial hemp can be legally grown and processed. The import process is complex. We must provide samples to the FDA, DEA and Homeland Security for testing. The industrial hemp paste is then held in quarantine until all government agencies sign off that the THC levels are within the legal limits (essentially non-existent). CBD containing less than 0.3% THC can be commercially sold in all 50 states with no prescription or permit needed.
Will It Get My Pet High?
CBD is non-psychoactive, which means that it doesn’t produce the “high” commonly associated with marijuana. THC is the compound that makes one high, and does this by binding to the CB1 receptor in the brain. It does provide some health benefits thanks to its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties, but the side effects usually outweigh the benefits, and this is why THC isn’t regarded as a treatment solution. CBD is currently used by many patients (human and animal) who seek an alternative form of therapy without the unwanted side effects.
